New Hitwise Charts!
By Joshua Levy, 10/03/2007 - 12:41pm

We’re continuing to expand our smorgasbord of political data, and today we present you with our latest offering: Hitwise Traffic.

Hitwise is a “competitive intelligence” company that tracks and charts web traffic. Every week we’ve been reporting on the stats from their Election 2008 Data Center, which show how much traffic each candidate’s site is getting as a percentage of the total number of visits to other candidates’ sites.

With this data, we can see that, for example, last week Fred Thompson received 27% of all visits to Republican sites:

And 13% of all visits to all of the candidates’ sites:

These charts help us to track historical trends, so we can also see that while Thompson received a huge bump in traffic when he announced in early September, he has since fallen below Ron Paul among the Republicans and below Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Ron Paul among the entire field.

More (Meetup?) charts to come…

As always, we welcome your feedback and comments.
