This is a fascinating and densely informative piece of writing. The whole notion of the DA being so opaque is surreal. And given the power of money, this entity's activity clearly needs to become more transparent. Micah's shined a pretty bright spotlight here. It'll be interesting to see if enterprising bloggers/journalists can turn that spot into an x-ray. Regardless, there's a treasure trove of information here. So thanks for that.

While blog posts usually have a shelf-life of nanoseconds, I’m hoping this piece -- more of a white paper than a post-of-the-day -- will stay featured for awhile, so people have time to catch up with it. I’ll be back with another longer comment after I have a chance to reread and digest the many related issues Micah’s insightfully touched on here.

Google the words “DailyKos” and you’ll get about 2.6 million results. Google the words “Democracy Alliance” and you’ll get about 44,000 hits, and from them you won’t find out much. That's why I'm writing to praise journalist Matt Bai's new book, The Argument.
