I think that's a great idea- to make everyone wear wrist bands of whoever they're supporting. Very clever, and I'll be interested to see if that becomes a trend in other types of political events (was there a "no freaking clue" wrist band for attendees to choose like there is an option in the DailyKos primary straw polls though?).

It should be noted that since the convention was held in Chicago, it only makes sense for Obama to have the largest number of declared-supporters simply because of obvious geographical reasons.

Check out my political blog, TheDailyBackground.com

You are right. This is unlikely to get as much traction as it's not nearly as well done. However, some of the other Hillary ones are. See previous comment. (Hey! I'm new here--just learning the interface.)

Same person, different skill level?

Interesting you should bring that up. I wondered the same thing about the first crop. What if the well-done, but fairly restrained one supposedly posted by ParkRiver47 was actually done by the same people who did the much nastier one with the Jennifer Flower interview from Fox News? When you view one, the other comes up on YouTube. Some people, as I did, must click on the second. Some people must go to the paranoid website listed at the end that accuses Mrs. Clinton of being a procurer for her husband's career as a serial rapist.

The Obama one, however, is not nearly as well done as the first ones. So I would question whether it comes from the same source.

And, yes, Micah, I am the Chris Finnie you interviewed for The Nation about the Dean campaign. Good to hear from you again too! Chris

Thanks, Micah!

Thanks so much for these notes Micah. There were so many times during this discussion when I just wanted to bop those journalists on the head. They are probably way ahead of their peers, but they are really far from getting it.

They really seem unable to break out the mindset that their audience are a much of dumb sheep with no intellectual curiosity and who have to be told what they want to read. I nearly cried out when Plotz described the media's breathless coverage of Obama coverage as "earned media" instead of the predetermined and self-fulfilling script that the MSM is mindlessly following.

Anyway it was a fascinating discussion to observe. Perhaps next year they can include some of the politicians who they so frequently blamed for spin and message control. We can get a nice "chicken or the egg" session going.
