Looks like this group is intended for Clinton alums. Most of the officers list some capacity like communications, advance, etc. The legalese (and lack of anything else) in the description is downright creepy though.

Guys, this a a story with no there, there.

Who cares. Robo calls are made all the time with "talent" either known (Jack Nicolson for Hillary or Jay Z for Obama for example) or not known.

This is a story with no there, there.

WVWV does progressive work on voter registration. They may not be super talented when it comes to operational excellence, but they are not evil Clinton supporters either.

Many people have said that these calls are illegal and that the NC AG (Cooper, who I testified with in the US Senate) is investigating.

The bottom line?

Almost every political campaign and non-profit breaks the "law" on robo calls.

- Few let people know who sponsored the call.
- NO ONE gives the listener a way to opt out of future calls.

This will be dead Wednesday.

What will not be dead, is the increasing use of robo calls by all sides to invade the privacy of voters as campaigns continue to use technology to "outsource" true grass roots support to automated phone calls rather than phone volunteers.

That number seems awfuly high. I also think it is high since most people who have access to e-mail have multiple addresses, such as one for work, one for home, and one as a "spam catcher".

Your Youtube chart on the front page hasn't been updated in over a month now, yet the Youtube chart page itself seems OK. Can you guys fix this so we don't have to view the full chart to get current numbers?

Thanks so much for these notes Micah. There were so many times during this discussion when I just wanted to bop those journalists on the head. They are probably way ahead of their peers, but they are really far from getting it.

They really seem unable to break out the mindset that their audience are a much of dumb sheep with no intellectual curiosity and who have to be told what they want to read. I nearly cried out when Plotz described the media's breathless coverage of Obama coverage as "earned media" instead of the predetermined and self-fulfilling script that the MSM is mindlessly following.

Anyway it was a fascinating discussion to observe. Perhaps next year they can include some of the politicians who they so frequently blamed for spin and message control. We can get a nice "chicken or the egg" session going.
