Need to seed production material

As mentioned above, the Romney contest was a success because the campaign supplied supporters with video, audio, and even software tools to edit the video. The Edwards campaign simply points the supporters to the YouTube "Record yourself" tool. Producing a good video is extremely time- and labor-intensive. Amateurs need something to help them along or else they'll give up quickly.

As covered here on TechPresident, the Fred Thompson campaign tried the same thing almost two months ago, but now I can't find any reference to the contest on their site. At least this Edwards competition does have the reward of a TV spot, so that may help in driving people to make their own videos.

Pretty funny videos!

Just a quick note to say that, even though it's ridiculous to compare working on your dad's campaign to fighting a war, it IS true and legitimate to say that working in politics to improve the country is serving your country.

After all, that's why we do it, isn't it!

Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry is the president of Impulsion Concorde, France's premier right of center think tank for students and young professionals.

Even shorter!

Oh man, don't make it shorter! The problem with all of the "debates" so far is that it's nothing but fluffy 30- and 60-second sound bites! I haven't had a chance to watch many of the clips yet, and I had hopes of the Charlie Rose format giving the opportunity to get into some more *depth* on some issues...I hope we can find better things to do with that annoying Jumpcut interface than just turn this into more of the same previous popcorn niblets.

Jumpcut schmumpcut, I'd rather find a way to download some raw files and edit something really fun with a better tool.

Is this a trap?

First, you goad Republicans into more open online strategies, then you whack them when something slightly off-message (or a lot) pops up?

I kid, of course. You would never do that. But I do know others that would.
