I didn't know I was running for president until I saw this new video from AARP. Now, the guy running AARP's online advocacy program is a friend, but I was nevertheless stunned to see AARP wanted me for president. Geeesh!

Anthony Hamelle of Linkfluence has posted a video doing exactly that. He zeroes in on two political videos that made a big splash at the height of summer: the McCain campaign's successful viral attack on Barack Obama as a "Celeb," which compared him to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears in the wake of his European tour and scored well over a million views; and Paris Hilton's snarky response, which ultimately overtook McCain with something over three million views.

CNN reports:
Tina Fey may be the best but she's far from the ONLY Sarah Palin impersonator. CNN's Jeanne Moos rounds up the imposters.
CNN has a piece about Sarah Palin impersonators, and posts links to most of the videos as 'FROM YOUTUBE.COM.'
You'll notice when CNN displays video from NBC they show a graphic that says, 'Saturday Night Live from NBC', or 'Nightline From NBC News.'
They also add a graphic for Funny or Die, but most YouTube comedians don't get credit.
Can we get some link backs to the YouTube comedians?

It's hard to find a high quality combination of both good audio and video of Michelle Obama's DNC speech.
In the end, Google video had the best experience with good audio and user control. It was a better experience than watching on the C-Span site, where the video comes from. Ironic. The DNC site had great video but poor audio. The YouTube version, on the Obama '08 page, edited the introduction.

Arun left his job as an adjunct film professor at NYU to produce video that pulls from public events, behind the scenes, and one-on-ones -- unique creative content that populates BarackObama.com and a YouTube channel. Let's get started.

The political web can be so hyper-focused on the moment that I’m still surprised when folks take a step back and produce in-depth videos and analyses about what makes voters tick.
Yet two projects -- Purple States and Hope for Change -- do just this.
