Will soundbite politics win out over soundblast politics? That's the question that was on my mind as I flew out to Los Angeles yesterday evening and watched Rev. Jeremiah Wright speaking live on CNN at the NAACP Detroit convention.

Will broadcast's need for a simple narrative continue to dumb-down our politics? Can the abundant spaces of the internet enable enough Americans to think about complex issues like race in depth? Those are the questions on my mind as I ponder the aftermath of Obama's big speech.
